Description
A trip on the trail of the greatest conqueror in history.
From the school of Aristotle, who taught Alexander the natural sciences, medicine, art, and the Greek language, the trip crosses northern Greece to the Vermian Mountains, then ascends to the Pirin Park and the Bulgarian Rhodopes, between gorges dug by streams and UNESCO-protected nature reserves.
It continues between the Rila Monastery, the Macedonian capital Skopje, and the Mavrovo National Park, to the great lake of Ohrid, on the border with Albania.
Four countries, one thread.
The lake of Prespa, divided between three nations, the city of fur of Kastoria, the gorges of Vikos and its stone bridges: an itinerary that crosses Greece, Bulgaria and North Macedonia on well-paved roads.
A trip designed for those who want to discover the inner Balkans, far from the most fun routes, between ancient history and pristine natural landscapes.
