From Italy to Galicia, across the Pyrenees and Castile.
The Col de Larche, the Pyrénées Ariégeoises and the Principality of Andorra open a journey across France and Spain, via Zaragoza and León, to Santiago de Compostela and Finisterre, where for medieval pilgrims the known world came to an end.
O Cebreiro, with its ancient stone pallozas, and the Templar castle of Ponferrada tell the story of the Camino de Santiago along the road to Galicia.
Portugal, from Porto to Cabo da Roca.
Guimarães castle, the Douro river and the city of Porto open the discovery of Portugal, continuing through the Serra da Estrela to Sintra and its castle, and to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe.
The return crosses Évora, Mérida, Toledo and Teruel, before boarding in Barcelona for the sea voyage back to Italy.
